Unfortunately, we live in a world where things are constantly changing and everyone follows the latest fad and right now the latest fad is the Twilight Saga. The Twilight Saga, for everyone who doesn’t know, is a series of books written by Stephanie Meyer about vampires and werewolves and the love between the main characters, Edward Cullen and Bella Swan. Roughly around this exact time last year, the movie Twilight came out and people went ballistic! I mean, sure I read the books and I loved them, but the movie was ridiculously exaggerated. Twilight fans everywhere were literally making fools of themselves by dressing up like characters for the movie premieres and some were even having big parties. It drove me up a wall! I mean, seriously people, it’s just a movie! Well this year, the sequel to Twilight, New Moon, comes out.
Since the announcement of when the New Moon movie was going to come out, people have been crazy; literally. If you walk into a store and look around, you are bound to see at least one shirt with Edward and Bella or Twilight and New Moon on it. They are taking things seriously overboard. Who wants to wear a shirt with some big ugly guys face on it? Not me! These horrible movie exaggerations are seriously making me sick of the books. Sure, I’m still going to go see the movie, but that doesn’t mean I’m going to make my skin vampire pale and dress up like Bella! The books were seriously a work of art but the movies are straight up garbage.
I’m not trying to criticize Stephanie Meyer or any of the actors in the movies because they did a great job. It’s the World’s fault that they are going to such dramatic matters to advertise this. I see this as one big silly act of mankind. I think that the books were ten times better than the movies and that everyone should step out back and just chill out with this! New Moon was a great book and I sincerely hope the movie is not as ridiculous as Twilight was. So, what do you think?
I hear you girl. I feel like all this crazy vampire stuff is to effective on our small society. I think Stephanie Meyer is a great writer, but many people are taking her books out of contents.
ReplyDeleteThe "Twilight" series is a good idea, but many people are obsessive over it. I think obsessing over vampires is a very immature thing. Glimmery skin would be more fascinating if it were realistic.
I so agree with you Courtney! I love you best friend. I think that great minds do think alike. So glimmery vampires need to go extinct.
i hear you also Court. People go crazy over Twilight and it's just a book.It's a bunch of silly vampires.I think dressing up as the characters is kind of stupid. I think that they shouldn't try to imitate a fictional character.that's not smart in my opinion.
ReplyDeleteI love Twilight and Stephenie Myers but people take it to far. People should really grow up. It's kind of funny if you think about it. The series was a brilliant idea i think but i also feel it's crazy how much it's talked about.It makes no since how much people love it.
A lot of people don't talk about god as much as they talk about Twilight. It's like there worshiping the series. i want to go see the movie but I'm not going to go to conventions about it or anything. I feel like it's blown out of proportion. Court I agree with your blog 100%.
I would have to say I agree with you. I am not really into that genre, so the books nor the movie appeal to me.
ReplyDeleteNow, there are some really great movies out there right now. I hear that the movies "Precious" and "Blindside" are two great movies.
You should check both of those out. Precious is also a book adaptation, so, you should find that interesting.
I understand where you are coming from. I love the books but I never got to read them because everyone(my sister) messed it up for me by telling me EVERYTHING that happend. Twilight was a really good book and the movies left out a lot of inportant details.
ReplyDeleteIt is stupid for people to dress up like the people from the movie thats just stupid. I kinda get why people wanted to go at midnight though. They want to be the first to see it and didn't won't others talking about it and messing up the movie for them. Thats why me and Jennifer got tickets 3 months before the movie came out. It was a good movie.
I liked it but I'm not going to sit here and say it's stupid because I love the books and the movies. My sisters crazy over it and all this kinda stuff. Next thing you know it will be out of the news and people will be going crazy over something else.
When you talked about the dressing up and how stupid it was; people did the same thing for all the Harry Potter movies. I think the Twilight movies and book were better then the Harry Potter books any day but thats just me because I really not in to the whole witchs and magic and stuff.
